Sustainable energy from the rooftops of Monosuisse AG

Monosuisse AG has gradually developed into a producer of sustainable energy. In the last few months, the capacity for the production of our own solar energy has once again been significantly expanded. Some 2000 solar panels were installed on an area of 4600 m2. These generate approximately 750,000 kWh of solar electricity per year, which is equivalent to the consumption of 180 family households.

Producing 13 percent of our own electricity consumption
This green electricity is used for production and to operate the company's own groundwater heat pump system (Thermal Energy Network Seetalplatz). This in turn supplies sustainable energy in the form of heating and cooling of almost 20 GWh. Four building complexes on the Viscosistadt site, which is also home to Monosuisse AG, already produce a total of 940,000 kWh of solar electricity. But the share of sustainable electricity production is set to rise substantially in the future. By 2027, production at Viscosistadt is to be increased to up to 2.6 million kWh of solar electricity per year. This means that the site's own solar installations will cover around 13 percent of the site's grid consumption. Viscosistadt and Monosuisse focus on sustainable energy production already since 2016.
